I STAND WITH THE MOTHERS
Our world is in desperate need of mothers to rule, to negotiate and to protect all children
I STAND WITH THE MOTHERS
I am heartbroken. As a mother, I know the sheer amount of love, energy, time, patience, dedication, sleepless nights, worry, joy, sadness, labor and the amount of a woman’s life that goes into raising a child.
I am heartbroken for the loss of humanity that dehumanizes children and views their precious souls as an acceptable casualty for the strategy of war.
I stand with the mothers whose children were raped as a strategy of war.
I stand with the mothers whose children have been murdered as a strategy of war.
I stand with the mothers whose children are held hostage and tortured as a strategy of war.
I stand with the mothers whose children are starving and cold because they have no food, water and power, because of a strategy of war.
I stand with the mothers whose children are injured, weak, traumatized and in pain and there is no medicine and electricity for doctors, nurses and hospitals to help them because of a strategy of war.
I stand with the mothers who are themselves injured, hungry, thirsty, weak, traumatized, dehumanized, forgotten and who are unable to protect their children because of a strategy of war.
I stand in place of the mothers who can no longer advocate for their children because they are dead because of a strategy of war.
Let me say this. Mothers would not have come up with, or used, rape as a weapon of war.
Mothers would not have agreed to murder children, young people, mothers, fathers, or the elderly as a strategy of war.
Mothers would not have agreed to bomb hospitals, churches, or starve children and families as a strategy of war.
In fact, in the history of mankind, men in power, regardless of race, color and creed, have inflicted pain, caused bloodshed, and sown the suffering of people in the name of protecting their way of life, their families and themselves. I would argue that history is proof that causing pain and suffering only causes more pain and suffering.
Einstein famously said, “You cannot solve a problem from the same level of consciousness that created it.”
Our world desperately needs the collective consciousness of mothers who protect children, for we have ideas and solutions that aren’t based on war strategies that continue the cycle of suffering.
Our world is in desperate need of mothers to rule, to negotiate and to protect all children.
More than anyone else, a mother knows the value of a child. Whether it’s her child or whether that child came from, or belongs to another mother.
Every single child is the embodiment of love, hope and the future.
If there is to be any future, with hope and love, we need mothers in a position to solve problems.
I stand with the mothers in Israel and Palestine. I stand with the mothers in the Ukraine.
I call on the mothers of the world to unite and to come up with solutions that protect children first and foremost; everything else must fall below that priority.
We need a new dynamic and a new shared purpose. To protect the children of the world. If our goal is to protect children, then our actions will also align with protecting this world, our cities and the wild places on our planet because the future is where the children will live.
